Hey there,

i m Cy

Hi, I’m Cy — the storyteller behind Breaking Cycles.

In July 2024, I quit my corporate job, moved into my Land Rover Defender, and started driving west from Hong Kong. Over 60,000km and 27 countries later, I’m still living on the road — but now with a new mission.

Breaking Cycles is about more than travel. It’s about leaving comfort, facing the doubts that come with change, and trying to build a more meaningful life. Right now, I’m starting a business from the back of my truck to connect local artisans to a global audience — and I’m documenting the messy, honest process from Day 1.

This is my journey from corporate life ➝ nomad entrepreneur.

If you’ve ever wondered what happens after you walk away from the “safe” path, this is where I share it.

The Journey So Far

27 countries • 60,000+ km • 450+ days

Hong Kong → China → Mongolia → Russia → Kyrgyzstan → Kazakhstan → Uzbekistan → Tajikistan → Georgia → Armenia → Turkey → Bulgaria → Greece → Italy → France → Monaco → Spain → Morocco → Switzerland → Germany → England → Scotland → Wales → Belgium → Netherlands → Denmark → Norway → Sweden

  • “Stories from the road. Building a business with purpose.”

  • "From holding a laptop in the office to holding a shovel in the desert"

MY MISSION

I started Breaking Cycles by leaving behind 15 years in the corporate world to chase a different path — one led by freedom, creativity, and meaning.

After traveling across 27 countries and living more than 450 days on the road, I’ve seen how powerful stories can connect us. Now I’m building a business that does more than sell products: it shares the lives behind them.

Breaking Cycles is my journey of transformation — from corporate life to overlanding, and now into building a purpose-driven business from the back of my Defender. What started as a search for freedom and happiness have evolved into a mission: to help artisans and local families share their craft with the world. By telling their stories and connecting them directly with global audiences, I want to break the cycle of limitation and create opportunities for others to thrive. This is more than travel — it’s about building a life of freedom, impact, and connection.

My mission is simple:

✨ Tell real stories.

✨ Support artisans directly.

✨ Inspire others to break their own cycles and follow their true path.

Breaking Cycles isn’t just a travel project. It’s about stepping away from comfort and the idea of how life ‘should’ look, choosing instead to live with intention and supporting others doing the same
